Physical exercise classes

Australian businesses lose an estimated 12 million days of productivity annually due to depression alone, and untreated mental health problems cost Australian employers at least $10.9 billion a year.

Since regular exercise has proven mental health benefits such as reducing feelings of stress, anxiety and depression, making a relatively small investment in your employees’ health by encouraging and facilitating physical activity in your workplace makes economic sense.

Bupa offers a range of group fitness classes.

The classes run for 45 minutes to an hour and can be held before or after work, or during lunch hours, commonly in 6-8 week blocks:

Run / Walk Challenge

An exercise professional will take employees on a run walk and demonstrate a circuit that they can complete in their lunch break or after hours. Participants will also learn about the importance of warm up and cool down stretches, and different strengthening exercises.

Yoga

This class aims to help improve flexibility, strength, balance and posture.

Zumba

A Latin inspired dance workout with a combination of dance and aerobic moves.

Pilates

Pilates teaches a unique method of body control and conditioning ‐stretching and strengthening the muscles, while improving flexibility and balance. Pilates aims to help improve posture and reduce back pain by strengthening core muscles

Stretch and Relaxation Class

Participants learn a series of stretches designed to help release physical and mental tension.

Bootcamp

A mix of cardio, interval and strength training for a challenging workout.

Boxercise

Help develops upper body strength, agility and cardiovascular fitness all at the same time.

Circuit Class

This is a condition training class combining resistance training and high-intensity aerobic exercise.
